Mumbai Sessions Court orders a stay on the release of Mulk. The film is said to be aiming at getting sympathy for Muslims and reported as being funded by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The film is all set to release on 3rd August but the stay might cause it a delay for a week or so.

Based on a real-life story, Mulk is about the struggles of a Muslim family that fights to reclaim their owner after one of their family members joins a terrorist group. Rishi Kapoor is playing the role of an accuser Murad Ali in the film while Tapsee Pannu will be seen as a defense lawyer Aarti Mohammed.
