After registering, a huge dip in day 2 collection Kalank takes another plunge and witnesses even harder time at the box office. Despite the partial holiday of Hanuman Jayanti and Good Friday, this multi-starrer struggled to find the audience and ended up raking in mere ₹ 11.60 cr on Friday with the huge drop of collection of 50% as compared to the release day. With such a massive drop in the biz, Kalank box office collection day 3 now reaches ₹ 44.65 cr mark. However, even such numbers are the result of the pre-bookings till Sunday. The real test of the film will start from Monday onwards.
Interestingly, the speculations about Kalank budget were making grounds since the film hit the floor and no correct figure was to believe until yesterday when the makers of the film broke the news about it and shared a very surprising figure, which is a massive ₹ 150 cr. Now, keeping such a degraded performance of Kalank at the box office in the last three days, one thing is clear that this venture of Karan Johar will fetch him nothing but a towering loss. Kalank box office collection day 3 shows that there would be no doubt whether Kalank is a flop or hit.
Kalank release date was 17 April 2019 which was a partial holiday across the country and its makers took a wise move to release it on a non-conventional day and cashed it on brilliantly. Therefore, Kalank box office collection day 1 turned it the highest grosser of 2019. However, that was it for the film and this Abhishek Verman directorial witnessed a massive drop and Kalank box office collection day 2 saw an about 50% fall which is rare for such hyped, multi-starrer film. Moreover, Kalank proves to be a ‘Kalank’ for the biggest makers of the industry like Karan Johar, Fox Star Studios, and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sons.
All and all, the film has not met the towering expectations and Kalank box office collection day 3 prove the fact.
