Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and Rajkumar Rao starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga could not allure the audience; therefore it remained at a lower side despite featuring such a rich star cast. Based on the sensitive vis-à-vis controversial subject of homosexuality of women, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga Box Office Collection Day 1 were mere ₹ 3.30 cr. However, it is expected to witness a little growth on the weekend and bag a decent three-day total.
Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, Juhi Chawla, Abhishek Duhan, Regina Cassandra and Brijendra Kala are also in pivotal roles in the film. The film is co-written by Gazal Dhaliwal and Shelly Chopra Dhar.
Where Did It Fail?
Released on Feb 1, the film did not receive good reviews; however, many critics badged it with titles like ‘Brave’, ‘Bold’, ‘Bindaas’, etc., yet such reviews hardly help if the film serves substandard content. The film has been tagged by the makers as ‘Unusual Romance’ and it’s actually very unusual lacking entertainment values. Moreover, the film tries too hard to change the social norms without delivering the message a little logically and seamlessly. We must highlight that love stories are not making their mark at the ticket-window at the moment but films with unique genre and treatment are being loved more.
Uri the Surgical Strike and Manikarnika are posing a tough competition for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Uri, on one hand, is heading to the ₹ 200 cr mark while Manikarnika is also alluring hearts and nears the ₹ 75 cr mark after a week.
Hit or Flop?
Looking at Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga Box Office Collection Day 1, it can be said that the film would not even be able to dish out its budget. It is notable that the film is made with a budget of ₹ 30 cr and the marketing PR cost ₹ 10 cr.
